The Polo Grounds

This is an example of one of my favorite photogs that Scancafe sent back a while ago...Check out the ad for Chesterfield. This is a game Jim and Yvonne attended at the Polo Grounds in either '50 or '51. A time when African Americans (not a term for this photog's time...) were just starting to play baseball. When did Jackie Robinson break the race barrier?

    This looks like something right out of a Ken Burns documentary. I liked the pictures you sent of the old cars, too.

    By the way, the photos are enlargeable. Click on the picture and it goes to full size. Then you can really see the Chesterfield ad ("It's a hit!")
